Homecoming: Returning to Our JDM Roots
Hey everyone,
It's been way too long since I've posted here on the blog, August feels like a lifetime ago. Life has been a whirlwind, and honestly, finding time to sit down and write has been tough. But here I am, up in the quiet hours two nights before Christmas, with insomnia kicking in and a strong urge to reconnect. So, let's catch up on all the changes we've been going through and where JK Adventures is headed next.
Our lives, and the channel, have evolved so much over the past few years. We've chased every passion that revs our engines: full-time RV living, epic motorcycle trips, overlanding adventures with the Bronco Sport and Jeep, high-horsepower builds like the twin-turbo BMW and lowered Honda Civic EK for those smooth road cruises, even diving deep into American muscle and diesel trucks. We've loved every community we've touched along the way. The freedom of the open road in an RV, the thrill of off-road trails, the roar of a big domestic V8, it's all been incredible.
But lately, we've felt a pull back to where it all began for me: the late '90s and early 2000s JDM tuner culture. That era of neon underglow, fast-and-furious vibes, and endless garage nights modding imports, it's in my blood. We've shifted focus again, circling back to those true roots while still embracing everything we love about cars (because let's be real, we love it all).
Remember our series The Chronicles of Car Culture? We kicked it off months ago with the beast that is the Ford Excursion, the largest mass-produced SUV ever built, powered by that legendary 7.3L Powerstroke diesel. It was a perfect nod to the oversized American iron that dominated the early 2000s.
We haven't given that series the attention it deserves lately, but we're fired up to revive it big time. Next up: diving into pure JDM icons like our Nissan Stagea—the ultimate "Skyline wagon" with AWD grip and RB turbo power, perfect for family hauls with a sneaky performance edge.
And the Subaru WRX Bugeye—one of the rawest rally-inspired machines, with those iconic round headlights produced only for the 2002-2003 model years in the US. It's a short-lived legend that captures the heart of early 2000s Subaru madness.
The Chronicles of Car Culture is going to explore these stories, builds, and the rivalries that shaped us, from tuner vs. muscle debates in high school parking lots to how these cars still turn heads today.
The channel has seen tons of changes as we've experimented to find our groove, but that's the beauty of it. We're not locking into one niche; we're celebrating the entire car world. Expect more JDM content coming strong in 2026, builds, road trips, nostalgia vlogs, but we'll keep mixing in the RV overland vibes, motorcycle adventures, and everything else that fuels our passion.
Thanks for sticking with us through the shifts. Your support means the world. Drop a comment below: What's your favorite era of car culture, or which vehicle from our fleet do you want to see more of?
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays, let's make 2026 the best year yet on the road.
